Meet Mikey
My name is Mikey LaCroix and I am a snowboard cross racer from Shrewsbury Massachusetts. I am a member of the U.S. Snowboard Team My dream is to make the 2022 Winter Olympics. I grew up riding at a small learn-to-ski area called Ski Ward, located in my home town. It was here that I fell in love with snowboard cross, first competing in USASA and then eventually moving up to FIS races, and now World Cup races. I have raced in 6 World Cup venues. When I am home, I work full time as well as going to school to get a business degree through Umass Lowell. In my free time, I love to go sailing, hiking, skateboarding, play beach volleyball and working out.
Snowboard cross is a snowboarding competition where four to six athletes race down a course which includes tight turns, jumps, and other obstacles. This video best describes snowboard cross.
